This reduces the company&#8217;s profit, which means income tax is reduced on the dividend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The following benefits do not have to be declared on the salary statement:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Free SBB half-fare card<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>REKA-Check benefits up to CHF 600 (e.g. free delivery of CHF 600 in REKA-Checks)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Customary Christmas, birthday, engagement, and similar gifts in kind up to CHF 600 per year (as of 2026)*. A gift in kind can be a voucher, but not a monetary gift.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contributions to association and club memberships (but not gym memberships) up to CHF 1,000 per individual case.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Admission tickets for cultural, sporting and other social events up to CHF 600 per year (as of 2026)** (only contributions exceeding CHF 600 per year must be declared).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Free parking at the place of work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Notes:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*This changed from CHF 500 <em>per event <\/em>to CHF 600 <em>per year<\/em>  (i.e., the threshold is now an annual maximum rather than per-event). If the total value of such gifts exceeds CHF 600 in a year, <strong>the entire amount must be declared.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>**This changed from CHF 500 <em>per event<\/em> to CHF 600 <em>per year<\/em>  (i.e., the threshold is now an annual maximum). <strong>Only the amount exceeding CHF 600 per year must be declared.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.estv.admin.ch\/estv\/de\/home\/direkte-bundessteuer\/lohnausweis.html#-2001549595:~:text=Instructions%20for%20completing%20the%20salary%20statement%20or%20pension%20certificate%20(including%20an%20overview%20of%20the%20cantonal%20tax%20authorities)%20(PDF%2C%20875%20kB%2C%2015.01.2026)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Guidelines for Completing the Salary Statement and Pension Certificate<\/a>, paragraph 72).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The following benefits are neither subject to AHV nor taxable, but must be declared on the salary statement:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Lump-sum expense allowance (approx. 3\u20135% of gross salary)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The following benefits are not subject to AHV, but are taxable for the employee:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Family allowances (child, education, household, marriage, birth allowances) within the scope that is customary in the locality or industry. Contributions to a pension fund, especially <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nexova.ch\/en\/accounting\/pension-fund-contributions-voluntary-buy-ins\/\">voluntary purchases<\/a>, can be deducted from taxable income, provided there is a purchase potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The purchase potential depends on the retirement capital saved to date and the current salary level. By reducing the tax progression, the tax burden can be considerably lowered, while, at the same time, pension capital can be built up and invested for the long term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, it should be noted that the purchased capital is not available until retirement and is entrusted to the pension fund in the long term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Save taxes with dividends<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Entrepreneurs can distribute income from their company in the form of dividends. It can be advantageous to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nexova.ch\/en\/tax-and-legal\/salary-vs-dividends-company-owner\/\">receive part of the salary as a dividend<\/a>, as this is subject to preferential taxation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For qualifying participations (where you hold at least 10% of the company&#8217;s shares), the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nexova.ch\/en\/tax-and-legal\/partial-taxation-of-dividends-in-switzerland\/\">partial taxation of dividends<\/a> means that only 70% of dividends are taxed as income at the federal level (as of 2026). At the cantonal level, at least 50% of dividends must be taxed, with rates ranging from 50% to 80% depending on the canton. A salary\/dividend strategy should consider all short- and long-term effects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Save taxes through voluntary pension provision<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Pillar 3a is a classic instrument for building up retirement capital and saving taxes at the same time. Every year, a certain amount (up to CHF 7,258 for individuals with a second pillar occupational pension fund and up to CHF 36,288 for self-employed individuals without an occupational pension fund, as of 2026) can be paid into Pillar 3a and deducted from income.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, from 2026 onwards, you can make <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nexova.ch\/en\/tax-and-legal\/subsequent-pillar-3a-purchases-switzerland\/\">retroactive contributions to Pillar 3a <\/a>for up to 10 years back to close contribution gaps from 2025 onwards, providing further tax optimisation opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The capital can be withdrawn no earlier than 5 years before reaching the AHV retirement age, although <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nexova.ch\/en\/tax-and-legal\/financing-self-employment-pillar-3a-pension-fund\/\">there are exceptions<\/a>, such as taking up self-employment or purchasing owner-occupied residential property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Save taxes through a withdrawal strategy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The payout of pension capital from a pension fund and pillar 3a is tax-privileged, but varies depending on the place of residence. The tax burden can be optimised by staggering the payouts. As a company owner, you can more easily plan your withdrawals and retirement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Save taxes by changing your domicile<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nexova.ch\/en\/tax-and-legal\/changing-companys-domicile-address\/\">A transfer of domicile<\/a> of the company headquarters or a change of residence can provide tax advantages but is not practicable for every entrepreneur.
